Wojtyla Beatification , the Esperanto Radical Association reminds the pope with Gratitude
The Esperanto Radical Association unites in memory of John Paul II and his next beatification.
The Esperantist activity that will take place from the pontiff * won’t be limited to the linguistic innovation inside a confessional enviroment, but it contains a message of peace and tolerence for cultural differences. In Easter 1994, Wojtyla was the first pope to give the urbi et orbi blessing in esperanto, reviving hope that the Radical Party had transmitted through a letter that had been signed by Emma Bonino, Marco Pannella, Ottavio Lavaggi, Olivier Dupuis e Giorgio Pagano himself, introducing a tradition that continues with the Papal Head Benedetto XVI today; John Paul II has always demonstrated his benevolence for what concerns the Esperantist Movement. Giving the Mass Service in esperanto shows the International Catholic church’s approval and recognition of the esperantist Union.
Even though ERA has declared itself as a secular association, the Secretary, Giorgio Pagano, expresses his participation and agrees that dialogue between different people should exist to fight violence, and Karola Wojtyla’s contribution to the Esperantist cause of making Esperanto the International Language, for which the Association seizes the opportunity to renew its 15 year old gratitude to the Holy Father.
