While the request to learn Italian abroad grew, Italians devalue more and more their language (Federico Guiglia, journalist and writer). On the contrary Great Britain, the European country that enjoy the higher global spread of its language, is actually financing the institute for the promotion of English language, the British Council, with big investments: 275 millions Euro in 2005-6 (Giorgio Pagano, Secretary of Era, Association for linguistic democracy).
