EU Patents, the Comission's confirmation will aggravate all small and medium sized businesses.

"The enforced cooperation's desire for a single EU patent, confirmed by the Comission of Legal affairs, will aggravte the small and medium-sized businesses," says Pagano, Secretary of the ERA Onlus.
" Considering that nearly 25% of the European patents are in German or French, the Italian businesses will have to translate 50 to 75 patents a year: the the average cost for each translation costs approximately 1200 euros, therefore the Italian small and medium sized expenses will reach up to 50 to 90 thousand euros, all because the rights states in the Treaty of Lisbon are being neglected and infringed by the trilinguism regime which is in silent collaboration with our governors, who have not offered any alternative to the English monolinguism, washing their hands of the smalle and meiudm sized Italiam enterpirses and leaving them to fend for themselves in an oppressive and unfair competition."
" The real problem is that English is treated as if it were our mothertongue, overshadowing interpretation and translation expenses as well as the educational ones: the enforcement of English costs aroun 60 billion euros a year, a price that is destined to rise even more thanks to the new school reform, which we will have to endure without ever taking in to account the fact that the money we spend is only helping the countries which have English as a national language. With the policy to learn english at all costs, our representatives are destined to lose every battle within the EU's paramenters, at the expense of the small and medium-sized enterpirses and their contributors: we therefore request that the Italian goverment takes our appeal in to consideration, that is to promote the only bipartisan solution – a common language for the EU community. In that case, everybody would pay the same price and every one would be equally privileged."
