PRESS RELEASE
Belgium, Pagano (Radicals/ERA): "Goverment-less for 300 days now, European problem."
Statement by Giorgio Pagano, Radicals/ERA.

Let us draw attention to Belgium’s situation, that, for 300 days now, is still without a Prime Minister. A worrying issue for the leading country of the European Union. Even though Belgium is not at war, it has certainly outdone Iraq, which was without a goverment for 248 days.
" The problem, that has gone undisputed by the information giants of the European union," says the Secretary of the "Esperanto" Radical Association, "when it should be treated as an emergency, seeing as the country is the home to the capital of the EU. Bruxelles hosts the European Parliment where the critical meetings for the member states take place, and, nevertheless, without a hint of foresight, they live in a goverment vacuum known as "the Belgium problem."
Actually, it’s a situation which mirros Europe’s: the political incompatibility that exists between the different sides of the federal state – the Flemish, French and, secondly, the German community – hilight a serious crisis; that is the great divide emphasized by the linguistic diversity that exists between the three languages. It is essential, now, more than ever, to promote Esperanto as the federal language; a chain that could tie together the different cultural traditions of the world, both in the European Union and in the individual states, and in Belgium itself.
If Belgium was really a state of the European Federation, a situation like this one would of been unthinkable, in the same way that in Italy, a region such as Lazio, could never be without a President for 300 days: and yet, the economical impact faces a lot of similar aspects, considering that there is only one currency. We must therefore accelerate the political unification process, because having the same currency without speaking the same language or a having common goverment, causes Belgium’s problems to affect all European citizens, who don’t have the power to solve them.
