BEACON AT THE ROME SYNAGOGUE: THE ESPERANTIST RADICALS PARTICIPATE IN DEFENCE OF DEMOCRACY AND FREEDOM
Aside from the various political conflicts and institutions, this evening, a beacon in defense of the Israeli Community will be lit by Rome’s Jewish community. The EspERAnto Radical Association will be there as well. Today, Israel is living a moment of geographical isolation in comparison to the democratic western world. This is Israel’s anchorage, rather than its isolation in the Middle East, and, following on to that, its entrance in the European Union is essential. The escalation of violence in the Middle East is fruit of the citizens’ constant fear, obsessed with the words of many of their muslim leaders and their apparent open desire to eliminate the Israeli state. The dialogue between different cultures is essential in order to guarantee peace and public safety in the entire area, for this reason, ERA Onlus, remembering the Jewish origins of Esperanto’s creator, tonight, the association will be present at the wake that will take place in front of the synagogue, to support the rights of the Israeli people, for them to live in harmony within their own borders, until the problem of cultural diversity is faced and the sense of belonging becomes one of a united family."
